I purchased one of these from a additional vender back in 2007 or so. I was bowled over by the level of point; it is more like a scale model than a toy in advent. Some of the finer fine points break off basically but this does not chat the function of the boat. It looks very much like a Russian Sovremenny Class DDG in 1/200 scale. After having it for a while I disassembled it and painted more to scale, it looks great as is but with a nice scale model like paint job it is even best. The boat runs real well forwards, back, left and right. There is no "strangle" just go or no go. The boat runs well in a small lake and does not get too upset if the water is not glass charming. There is no steering trim adjustment so it may not run in a real honest line.It has a neat protection map: the motors will not run except the boat is in the water or some other form of conductor sad both propeller shafts. I found this out when bench difficult the boat before to I used it in water. The in rank on the box (which is the only "blue-collar" you get) is not real clear about this map.Bring up to date: 7/1/10 After a fair quantity of use my first one of these sat for a year or so. The next time I went to use it the motors had in custody up due to water incursion and rust. I had already purchased more of these and placed one in benefit. This newer one has some minor changes that include less top side penetrations (like no off/on batter like my first one did) and water drain holes to help in drying out the internals. In addition to that, I disassembled the ship to paint it and all owing to reassembly I sealed the deck to hull seam with RTV.A link things to bear in mind that it is VERY IMPORTANT to get any water that seeps in the ship out when done for the day or the motors will rust up very promptly and you will have a one use RC toy that is now a static model. For early use an adult and/or a name habitual with RC must help with the early set up. Also you have just spent almost $50 for a toy with the size and point that you find on RC ships costing ten times the price, so a touch had to give everyplace. On the ones I have purchased all the surgical course of action and maintenance in rank you get is on the further than of the box and is poorly translated, so read it carefully. If you find you self not appreciative what is on the box I urge you pack it up and send it back.Over the past four years I have purchased numerous RC boats/ships in innumerable price ranges. For almost $50 this is one of the best ones, but that may not be adage much. This one is fine for what it is. To get a real clad ready to run RC boat/ship you are looking a costs almost $200.00 to $500.00 or more. For a touch less important and cheaper the "HT" torpedo boat is a additional HT boat that I found to be quite good for the money

I was looking for an rc boat that was uncommon from all else out there. By extent or opportunity I came upon the Smasher RC HT-2879, and it's pretty durn cool. Some good info to dredge up even if. It's not super-detailed museum feature, and it shouldn't be. It's made for fun on the pond. The transmitter range is kind of weak, and the battery beyond skepticism doesn't last long. By using two propellers to power management as a replacement for of a rudder it's less than satisfactory. Aptly from the box one of the motors was less commanding than the other, and in view of the fact that you can only go at full speed or none at all my boat will make generous curves in a roundabout way the pond when attempting to go honest. Proper strangle controls or a real rudder would fix this, but then I'm sure it would be more expensive. It's a cool boat, not like all else on the pond, but it does place a lot to be desired.Bring up to date! After I wrote this assess I took the boat out for the second time on the pond. About five summary in I watched as the starboard (aptly) motor absolutely died, leaving my boat dependability lazy circles out in the median of the pond. Given its performance, I don't think I can urge this anymore.
